Pricey, but wonderful food. I came in for a work lunch, and was served super quickly. Service was phenomenal. Our waiter was funny and gave great recommendations. Service was a little slow, but I think they were trying to give us space. Food was pretty good. I would say slightly overpriced, but it's one of the few restaurants in the area, so it's to be expected. I got the lobster BLT wrap which had a little too much mayo for my tastes, but was phenomenal otherwise. Gorgeous lobster, super fresh, and the flavors played together nicely. Overall, it's great food and great service. No complaints from me.
Started with the vegetables frito which had an amazing assortment of broccolini, cauliflower, tomatoes and olives- yes olives slightly battered in tempura and seasoned perfectly. Then onto the grilled shrimp dish with a generous portion of lightly grilled and glazed with pesto and olive oil. The service was outstanding and the management made sure I was happy my entire visit.
Came here last night with someone for a night cap and lucky for the wine fanatic that I am, this location was featuring Argentinian wines, which also included wine flights! I enjoy both a white and red wine, depending on the occasion and temperature, but last night I was certainly feeling red so I ordered the "Beyond Malbec" wine flight. Within this flight comes three different wines at 2 oz per pour for $10.75 per flight. The first was a Zuccardi "Serie A" Bonarda of Mendoza. Out of the three, this may have been my least favorite but I still enjoyed it. It was smoky and had a slight taste of tobacco with blackberry hints. It would have been the type of wine that I would have ordered at a cigar lounge where I would have smoked a vintage puff. However, it could be paired well with grilled meats and black beans based off of the taste and smokiness. The second wine was the Luca Laborde "Double Select" Syrah of Uco Valley. It was fuller bodied and more my style with black pepper, dark chocolate and a jammy finish. This would be a great wine to enjoy with beef, wild cheeses and mushrooms. However, the last wine was my favorite one. The Clos de los Siete Red Blend, also of Uco Valley, was a blend of Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. It was easy to drink and felt medium-bodied and was refined with a tight texture. With its bright flavor, it was the type of flavor that you could drink not just with food, but also with just a relaxing atmosphere and good conversation. I'm certainly looking forward to going back, even if it's just for the wine selection. However, for a Friday night and a nearly empty bar, the service was a bit slow but each person who spoke to us was friendly and seemingly knew quite a bit about the wine.
I can say that I will definitely not forget this place any time soon! Our visit was on Valentine's Day 2018 around 8 O'clock with a reservation. We did anticipate a bit of a crowd, but weren't expecting our reservation to be late by 15 minutes. Ultimately we ended up sitting at the bar instead of waiting longer for our table. Our service however, was EXCELLENT and I was impressed at how very honest and friendly our bartender was, and wish I could remember her name. Maple Peacan Whiskey cocktail is the bees knees if you're into those 3 flavors. It's a stiff, old fashioned kind of drink and not for the type who doesn't enjoy the strong taste of bourbon whiskey. Spanish Octopus: Just perfect. Crispy, seasoned and charred very well, and tender on the inside. It came with some fingerlings as well that were also perfectly roasted/grilled. Spaghetti Squash App: This was really good, and filling for an app. I am a fan of this being a veggie app. I ate it really quickly, and would get it again. White Clam Pizza: This pizza was a little mistake that I like to call a *BONUS* So yummy! The crust is thin, and light with a little chewier crust, just the way I like it. This pizza has a cream sauce that was really flavorful and light with hints of garlic. The clams were plump, tender, and cooked perfectly and there's an arugula salad atop the entire pie. I have to say that it's one to eat right away, as it's not as good room temperature, or cold the next morning as I found out. It did however, REHEAT PERFECTLY. Fig&Goat Cheese Pizza: Again with that awesome crust. This pizza comes with goat cheese, fig, broccolini, roasted squash, with a drizzle of pesto and a basalmic sauce. It might sound weird, but it's delicious. It was a really nice change in pizza pace. I have found a new fruit to put on pizza. :) Seafood Pasta: I don't recall what the dish was called as my partner was the one to order it. I did of course taste it and it was delicious as well. It had a spicy, flavorful red sauce with linguini, scallops, and clams. The scallops and clams were perfectly cooked, and sauced very well. Our bartender was honest enough to tell us that we were being sent the wrong pizza first because of a mix up in the kitchen and told us what it was in case of an allergy. She also informed us that the one we ordered would be out shortly behind it. At the end of the night, both pizzas were comped, and I was absolutely ecstatic. I mean what's better than a marriage proposal on Valentine's day AND free pizza?
I've lived in the area for 6 months and decided to try this hidden gem. I'll definitely be back for the scrod. I'd love to try the same recipe with another fish, like haddock. The maple bacon brussel sprouts on the side were unique and crispy. I felt the portion was great and generous. We had an appetizer of the roasted meatball. I felt the meatball itself was great but the sauce lacked flavor. The servers went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our meal and that our water was never empty. I feel that it would be more popular if it had something to light the outside at night so that it isn't so easy to overlook. During the day I honestly thought it was closed. I'll be back and will tell my friends!
